Hello!
and things I've loved this week.
Welcome! Hello! I’m Centaine and I’ve been flittering around the internet in a blogging/social media capacity for the last 12 years from my very first Blogger site to Wordpress and eventually Instagram. My beauty website, glossco, kind of gradually wound down a few years ago as blogging became less in demand but I have an almost obnoxious need to share and talk about things I love and am so excited to be able to do this in writing form again. I hope you’ll stick around to talk all things beauty, size inclusive style and general life things. You can find me on Instagram and TikTok too.
Five things I've loved this week

Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint mixed with Tarte Key Largo Bronzing Drops
After a very lazy (ie exhausted and sleep deprived) summer of very little makeup, I’ve been trying to take a couple of minutes in the morning to apply at least a light face. I feel totally confident going makeup free but I also feel like I’ve done something for myself by taking this time. Enter Summer Fridays and Tarte. Summer Fridays Sheer Skin Tint has been firmly in my makeup rotation since it launched. It’s a beautiful sheer coverage that isn’t too dewy but gives the skin a healthy glow that lasts all day. I recently picked up the Tarte Key Largo Bronzing Drops in Bronze Glow and turns out they are an absolute dream mixed with my Summer Fridays tint. The drops come in four shades (unlike certain other viral bronzing drops…) and are a serum infused, hydrating formula. They’re also all glow and no glitter!
Givenchy Prisme Libre Skin Caring Concealer
Another new makeup find that I can’t get enough of! Givenchy Prisme Libre Skin Caring Concealer is so lightweight but the coverage is super impressive. I use shade W100 which is perfect for under my eyes and I would probably purchase a slightly darker shade to use on my face. It blends beautifully with a Beauty Blender or my fingers and somehow works with both skin tints and foundation. It wears incredibly well with minimal creasing (reminder that all concealers will crease if you have any lines whatsoever) and fading.
Emma Lewisham Supernatural Blemish Face Serum
Lately my anxiety has manifested as persistent breakouts and skin irritation. Emma Lewisham’s new Supernatural Blemish Face Serum has been brilliant for minimising the breakouts and accompanying redness while soothing my skin. It contains live probiotics that support the skin and have been proven to inhibit the bacteria that can cause acne. I find it super hydrating and I love that it’s been clinically tested!
(Full disclosure- this serum was gifted to me by the brand when it launched last year)
I’ve been watching Toni and Ryan’s HILARIOUS Tiktoks for so long but it only just occurred to me this week to actually listen to their podcast. It has truly brightened my day every time I listen. They are so bloody funny and remind me of being in my early 20s and having a personality outside of being a mum and being tired… It’s full of hilarious anecdotes from their lives, sarcasm, crass humour (I’m aware of how boomer that makes me sound, thank you) and every episode ends with a positive observation or story.

Sage + Clare have released new colours in their beautiful resin pieces and I couldn’t help myself. The Pine Terrazzo colour way caught my eye straight away and once I had done a bit of internet perusing and realised there had been a stunning peony pink shade at one point, my hyperfixation started. I ended up picking up a selection of the Pine Terrazzo from Sage + Clare directly and some Peony pieces from Bungalow Trading Co. I’m in love and they look so gorgeous together. I’m also a big fan of the Spearmint and Taffy Terrazzo.
Thank you friends for joining me for my very first Substack. I’m still working out a posting schedule so make sure you’re subscribed to receive notifications!
Yours,
Centaine
